Interaction about fine arts curriculum in high school
Kathmandu, December 10. An 'Interaction Program on Fine Arts Curriculum' was organized by the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Naxal, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Curriculum Development Center, Sanothimi, Bhaktapur on Friday.
The program was jointly organized by the Academy's Chancellor Naradamani Hartamchhali and the Director General of the Curriculum Development Center, Yubaraj Poudel. In the context of the current academic session, painting, applied arts, sculpture, and art history subjects are being taught according to the revised curriculum in grades 11 and 12, the program was organized with the aim of interacting with teachers of the concerned schools about those curricula.
In the program, the Academy's Chancellor Naradamani Hartamchhali said that art and culture should be taken together in education and that the boundaries of cultural values should also be added to education. He emphasized the need to include local language, history, and art for the development of fine arts.
The Vice Chancellor of the Institute, Lalkaji Lama, said that this program will further help in discussions among the institutions providing fine arts education and study across the country for the advancement of fine arts and to understand how teaching and learning is being done.
The Institute's Member Secretary, Devendra Kumar Kafle 'Thumkeli', said that this program will play an important role in creating awareness about the importance of fine arts education across the country.
Director General of the Curriculum Development Center Yubaraj Poudel expressed the view that fine arts are important for introducing the country and that this program will guide the work to be done by the Government of Nepal in the field of fine arts.
The program was attended by Dinanath Gautam, Joint Secretary of the Curriculum Development Center, Sujan Chitrakar, Associate Professor of Kathmandu University School of Arts and Design, Dr. Balkrishna Ranjit, Principal of Sirjana School of Fine Arts, Assistant Principal Nabindraman Rajbhandari, Radheshyam Mulmi, Bidurraj Giri, Sharadaman Shrestha, Sagar Manandhar, Head of Painting and Acting at Kathmandu University School of Arts, Kamal Mishra, Curriculum Officer of the Curriculum Development Center, Keshavraj Khanal from Shahid Shukra M.V., Kalika Manavgyan M.V. Sumitra Rana from Butwal, Sanju Thapa Magar from Panchayat Secondary School, Sambika Basukala from Bagishwari High School, Bhaktapur, along with representatives from Bijeshwari High School, Kathmandu, Nobel Academy, New Baneshwor, Pinnacle Academy, Lalitpur, and others participated.
