Nepali citizens urged not to travel to Israel and Iran, instructed to adopt high alert
Kathmandu, 16 February. Showing sensitivity to the increasingly tense situation in the Middle East, the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that serious attention has been drawn to the safety of Nepali citizens in Israel and Iran. The Ministry has issued a notice and directed its citizens in the areas to be fully alert and take strict security precautions.
According to the notice issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nepalis in Israel and Iran should strictly follow the security instructions issued by the local administrations of those countries. In addition, Nepali citizens have been urged to stay indoors as much as possible, adopt high alertness and remain in constant contact with the Nepali communities in their respective areas.
The Ministry has also strictly instructed not to travel anywhere without the permission of the local authorities in both countries. Similarly, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also urged Nepali citizens planning to travel to Israel or Iran to postpone their travel until the situation in both countries normalizes.
The Ministry has also advised Nepali citizens working in other countries in the Middle East to regularly obtain information about the local situation and follow the instructions issued by the security agencies of the respective countries.
It is reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu, the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv, and the Nepali Embassy in Doha are providing 24-hour service via phone and email for emergency contact.
