A Buddhist monk performing magic
A Buddhist monk in India walks around showing magic these days. His name is Buddha Prakash. His identity is a Buddhist monk, but he is known as a monk who shows magic.
Gautama Buddha did not give any place to magic or magic. There is also a case where a couple who shows magic has been made a monk and a nun by giving them pravrajya. But then they were not allowed to show their magic. According to Buddha, professions like magic show are false livelihood.
The Ridhibal exhibition that amazes people like magic is found in the Buddhist world. Buddha also used to perform Ridhibal. Maudgalayana, his first disciple, was an expert in Ridhibal. Walking in the air, flying, being instantly absorbed and reappearing are automatically achieved by meditators. But wherever he found it, Buddha forbade him to walk while exhibiting Riddhi. Buddha also strictly banned various sports. There is nothing positive about the magic of that nature. But Buddhaprakash says about walking by showing magic - "Using magic, I am embarking on the campaign of 'Falling Superstition - Save the Country.'"
Buddha encouraged his monks to travel abroad for the welfare of the people. They did not allow them to sit in one place. Buddha himself used to travel and give sermons. Buddhaprakash says that he has been following the same tradition. He has toured many states of India showing magic. He also says that he will visit all provinces if possible. Not only schools, colleges, jails, but during his travels, he found a suitable time and place to show his magic. He has also performed magic on television. While he was visiting various places in India, I met him in a vihar near Nava Nalanda University in Vihar.
He not only surprises people by showing magic, but also reveals the 'trick' that is hidden while showing magic. His main objective is to remove the common people from superstitions and other illusions by giving the message that there is nothing like magic, magic and they are only cleaning of hands. In order to destroy the foundation of those who institutionalized superstition with the help of magic, he also opened the distinction of magic. While walking around showing magic, he attacks social superstitions and recites Buddha's words.
Bante Buddhaprakash was a doctor by profession before becoming a monk. From a Hindu background, he was attracted to Buddhism and immigrated two decades ago. To become a monk in Buddhism is to become a monk.
After training in magic, he is now showing magic. Do you only show or teach magic? He replies, I have no objection to teaching them if they are helpful in my purpose. They say - "I am not a magician, I am a monk." I want to lead the society by making people aware.
